Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • boiling water - 1 item
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • grated Parmesan - 1 item
  • olive oil - 2 Tbsp
  • spaghetti - 8 oz
  • green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • clove garlic, mashed - 1 item

How to make italian spaghetti:

Brown beef with onion and pepper in olive oil. Break up meat. Add next 5 ingredients; cover and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Stir garlic and 1 teaspoon salt into sauce. Add remaining salt to boiling water and cook spaghetti according to package directions.

To Serve: Arrange pasta on a warmed platter. Cover with sauce and sprinkle with cheese. Serves 4 to 6.
