brown sugar - 1 c
white sugar - 1 c
water - 2 Tbsp
flour
dates - 1 pkg
cinnamon - 1 tsp
shortening - 1 c
eggs - 3 item
hot water - 1/4 c
soda - 1 tsp
walnuts

How to make icebox cookies:

Mix sugars and shortening together. Add 2 tablespoons water and eggs. Dissolve soda in 1/4 cup hot water. Add to mix. Add cut up dates. Sift together flour and cinnamon. Mix all together. Add chopped walnuts. Roll in wax paper and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight. Cut in slices and bake at 350° for 8 minutes.
