Ingredients/Components
- chocolate chips - 12 oz
- soft butter - 3/4 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- caramels - 50 item
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
How to make chocolate caramel bars:
Mix chocolate cake mix with 1/2 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk. Add 3/4 cup soft butter. Spread 1/2 of mixture in a 9 x 12-inch ungreased pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350°.Melt 50 caramels with other 1/2 can of milk. Sprinkle 12 ounces of chocolate chips on bars. Pour caramels over chocolate chips. Pour remainder of batter on top. Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes.
