- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- cornmeal
- chopped onion - 6 Tbsp
How to make hush puppies:
Mix and sift all dry ingredients. Add chopped onion and egg. Pour boiling water over this mixture, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth. Add more water, if necessary. Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot fat.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Southern u.s..
