Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar
• milk - 3/4 c
• salt - 1 tsp
• flour - 1 c
• baking powder - 4 tsp
• egg, beaten - 1 item
• chopped onion - 3/4 c
• fresh cornmeal - 1 c

How to make hush puppies:

In a medium bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Add onion, egg and milk. Mix well. In a deep fat fryer, heat 4 inches of oil until hot. Fry hush puppies, a few at a time, until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
