Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • flour - 3 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 3 item
  • cooking oil
  • can crushed pineapple, undrained - 1 oz
  • chopped bananas - 2 c

How to make hummingbird cake:

Combine dry ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add eggs and oil and stir until dry ingredients are moistened. Do not beat. Stir in vanilla, chopped nuts and bananas. Spoon batter into 3 well-greased and floured 9-inch pans. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

After completely cooled, spread your favorite cream cheese frosting between layers and top. Sprinkle with pecans.
