Hot tamales
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 5 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- garlic powder - 2 tsp
- chili powder - 2 oz
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 3 lb
- red pepper - 2 tsp
- yellow corn meal - 1/2 c
- Mix well
- minced onion dried - 8 tsp
- monosodium glutamate optional - 3 tsp
- can tomatoes and green chilies, pureed Ro-Tel - 1 item
- can tomatoes and green chilies if you want them extra hot - 1 item
How to make hot tamales:
Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Roll filling into small logs, then roll these into the additional corn meal. Soak corn chucks (2 packs) in hot water until soft. Wrap logs in shucks. Layer tamales in alternate directions in large pot. Cover tamales with sauce and cook, using low heat on burner, for approximately 2 hours.
