Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 2 Tbsp
- tomato sauce - 1 c
- red pepper - 2 tsp
- cumin - 2 tsp
- small can tomato sauce - 1/2 item
- chilli powder - 2 Tbsp
- regular hamburger meat - 2 lb
- medium onions cut fine - 2 item
- pods garlic cut fine - 2 item
- Use coffee filters
- enough water to cover tamales - 1 item
How to make hot tamales:
Form meat mixture into small rolls. Use coffee filters. Wet each filter. Lay out flat. Drop 1/2 tsp corn meal on wet filter. Add a small roll of meat mixture on corn meal mix. Add another 1/2 tsp corn meal mix over meat. Roll tamales. Lay a heavy pot on its side and start placing tamales in. Stack tightly, filling entire pot.Tamales:2 c. yellow corn meal2 1/2 tsp. salt1 tsp. red pepper1/2 small can tomato sauce2 Tbsp. chilli powder1 tsp. salt enough water to cover tamales Mix well. Pour this over tamales and weigh down with a plate. Bring to boil, lower heat. Let simmer 1 hour and 15 minutes covered.Recipe categories: For large groups, Weeknight, > 1 day.
