Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 7 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • lukewarm water - 2 c
  • lukewarm milk - 1/2 c

How to make hot rolls:

Dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in milk; let rise 45 minutes. Cream 1/2 cup sugar, shortening, egg and salt together; add to yeast mixture with lukewarm water and flour. Mix well. Let dough stand overnight in refrigerator. Three hours before meal knead portion of dough needed. Make rolls and place into greased pan to rise.

Tip: Grease each roll top and bottom. Leave remaining dough in fridge until needed. Bake at 350° until light brown.
