Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 2/3 c
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • plain flour - 5 c
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • water water - 2/3 c

How to make hot rolls:

Dissolve yeast in 2/3 cup warm water and sprinkle 1 teaspoon sugar over yeast when you put in cup.

Combine shortening, 1/3 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon salt in mixing bowl and pour 2/3 cup boiling water over it. Let this cool, then add yeast water and eggs. Stir in flour and mix well. Put dough in covered dish in refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight. Make out rolls and let rise for at least 2 hours before baking. Cook at 350°.
