Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water - 2 Tbsp
- warm buttermilk - 2 c
- shortening can use Crisco - 1 c
How to make angel biscuits:
Dissolve yeast in water and add to the buttermilk. Mix in other dry ingredients. Make biscuits by rolling dough and cutting them out. Let rise about 10 minutes or longer before baking. Refrigerate any leftover for the next day. Bake at 325° until done.Note: Can cut them out and freeze them. Then take out and let rise again and bake.
