  • egg whites - 4 item
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
  • heavy cream, whipped - 1/2 c
  • juice and rind of 1 lemon
  • Filling:4 egg yolks

How to make heavenly pie:

Filling:4 egg yolks1/2 c. sugar juice and rind of 1 lemon1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped Crust: Beat egg whites and gradually add sugar and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff. Spread evenly in a buttered 9-inch pie pan and bake at 300° for 1 hour. Cool.

Filling: Beat egg yolks with sugar and lemon juice. Cook in double boiler until thick. Stir in grated lemon rind. Cool, then fold in whipped cream. Fill cooled crust with mixture. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
