Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- water - 1/3 c
- cooked, sliced beets or 2 cans sliced beets - 4 c
- butter or oleo - 3 Tbsp
- each: salt and pepper - 1/4 tsp
How to make harvard beets:
Combine sugar, cornstarch, vinegar and water. Boil for 5 minutes. Add beets and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from heat; add butter, salt and pepper. Serves 6.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
