Harvard beets
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch
- cider vinegar - 1/4 c
- butter or oleo - 1 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- beet juice - 1 c
- sliced beets, freshly cooked or canned - 3 c
- sugar I use 1/4 c - 2 Tbsp
How to make harvard beets:
Heat beets and liquid together. Combine cornstarch, sugar, salt, pepper and vinegar. Stir into hot beets. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened. Serve hot.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
