  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • Bisquick - 1 c
  • dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • can tomato sauce - 1 item
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • grated cheese - 2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • fine, dry bread crumbs - 1/2 c

How to make hamburger pie:

Heat oven to 375°. Mix baking mix and water until soft dough forms; beat for 20 strokes. Gently smooth dough into ball on floured board. Knead 5 times. Roll dough 2 inches larger than inverted pie plate (9 x 1 1/4-inch). Ease onto plate and flute edges.

Cook and stir ground beef until brown; drain. Add salt, oregano, pepper, bread crumbs, tomato sauce, onion and green pepper. Spread on pie crust. Beat egg with milk. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread over beef mixture. Put cheese over this and bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
