Ham and cheese casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- boiling water - 3 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- medium noodles - 4 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 1/2
- diced, cooked ham
- chopped pimiento - 1 Tbsp
- grated American cheese - 1/2 c
How to make ham and cheese casserole:
Add salt and noodles to boiling water; boil rapidly, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Cover, remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.Melt butter in saucepan. Add onion and green pepper; cook for 5 minutes. Add ham and cook for 4 minutes more. Rinse noodles with warm water and drain well. Heat soup and milk together, stirring until smooth.
Combine ham mixture, soup, pimiento and pepper with noodles. Turn into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes. Serves 4.
