Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • flour
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • can water chestnuts, sliced - 1 oz
  • herb dressing - 1/4 pkg
  • celery ribs - 2 item

How to make green pea casserole:

Preheat oven to 350°. Cook peas per package directions, unseasoned and drained. Set aside. Saute onion and celery in the 1/2 cup margarine. Add drained chestnuts, soup, flour and peas. Mix together well and cook slightly. Add salt and pepper to taste. Melt the 1/4 cup margarine in skillet and add the herb dressing. Set aside. Pour all (except the dressing) into a medium casserole dish and bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until bubbly and hot. Add dressing and brown slightly.
