  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • flour - 8 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • warm water - 1 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • potato water - 1 c
  • mashed potatoes, cooled - 1 c

How to make grandma's rolls:

Mix potatoes, sugar and salt in a bowl, then add in this order: beaten eggs, potato water and yeast water. Mix. Cream the shortening and flour; add. Mix to form a soft dough. Let rise until double, punch down and form rolls. Let rise again. Bake at 350° until done.
