Graham streusel coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- water - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 1 item
- cooking oil - 1/4 c
- ground cinnamon
- chopped pecans or walnuts - 3/4 c
- margarine or butter, melted - 2/3 c
- graham cracker crumbs about 21 crackers
- 2-layer size yellow or white cake mix - 1 pkg
How to make graham streusel coffee cake:
For streusel, in a medium mixing bowl combine graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in melted margarine or butter. Set aside.In a large mixing bowl combine cake mix, water, cooking oil and eggs. Beat on low speed with an electric mixer just until moistened. Beat on medium speed for 1 1/2 minutes. Pour half the batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with half of the streusel mixture. Carefully spread remaining batter over streusel. Sprinkle with remaining streusel. Bake in a 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool slightly; sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm. Serves 12 to 16.
