Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • soda
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • ginger
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp

How to make gingersnaps:

Cream sugar and shortening. Add molasses and egg. Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Roll into balls the size of a walnut. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
