  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • light molasses - 1/4 c
  • beaten egg - 1 item
  • sifted enriched flour - 2 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • ginger - 1 tsp

How to make gingersnap cookies:

Note: I usually make a double batch, using 3/4 cup shortening and 3/4 cup margarine. This makes them crack better. Cream shortening and sugar; add molasses and egg. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Roll in small
