Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • light molasses - 1/2 c

How to make gingersnap cookies:

Cream shortening and sugar; add molasses and egg. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll in small balls; dip in sugar. Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
