Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp

How to make gingersnap cookies:

Cream together first 4 ingredients until fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into molasses mixture. Form into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pan. Makes 5 dozen.
