Gingerbread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda
- molasses - 1 c
- sifted flour
- hot water - 1 c
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- each: cloves, ginger and cinnamon - 1 tsp
How to make gingerbread:
Cream the butter and sugar; add egg and molasses, mixing well. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Add hot water and beat until smooth.Pour into lightly greased and floured oblong cake pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve hot with butter, if desired.
