Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/3 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- dark molasses - 1/2 c
How to make ginger creams:
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and water thoroughly. Blend in remaining ingredients. Cover; chill 1 hour. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
