- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- molasses - 1 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- cloves - 1 tsp
- eggs, well beaten - 2 item
How to make ginger cakes:
Cream shortening; add sugar, then molasses. Finally, add the boiling water. Add sifted dry ingredients, stirring all well after each addition. Add the well beaten eggs.
