- brown sugar - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- molasses - 1 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- cloves - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- eggs, well beaten - 2 item
How to make gingerbread:
Blend brown sugar, shortening and molasses. Add baking soda and boiling water. Mix well. Add flour, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Mix well. Add eggs and mix again. Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
