Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 c
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- medium green bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- or 55 oz
- large tomato, seeds removed, chopped - 1 item
- Vernors ginger ale - 1 c
How to make ginger baked beans:
In large-holed colander, drain most of can liquid from pork and beans. Pour beans into baking dish and add onion, green pepper and tomato; mix gently. In small bowl, combine brown sugar and Vernors and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour evenly over bean mixture and bake at 350° until bubbly. If flat open dish is used, bake about 35 minutes; if bean pot, uncovered, is used, bake about 2 1/2 hours. Makes 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: For large groups, 3 steps or less, Easy.
