Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 1/4 c
  • 14 1/2 oz
  • sugar
  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • unbaked 10-inch pie shell - 1 item
  • chopped pecans - 1/2 c

How to make german sweet chocolate pie:

Melt chocolate with butter over low heat; stir until blended. Remove from heat. Gradually blend in milk. Mix cornstarch, salt and sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture. Pour into pie shell. Mix coconut and pecans; sprinkle over filling.

Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until top is puffed. Filling will be soft; will set when cooled. Cool 4 hours before serving.
