German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- flaked coconut
- 14 1/2 oz
- 10-inch unbaked pie shell or 2 8-inch pie shells - 1 item
How to make german chocolate pie:
Melt chocolate with butter over low heat, stirring until blended. Remove from heat; gradually blend in milk. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt thoroughly. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture. Pour into pie shell.Combine coconut and nuts; sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes. Filling will be soft, but will set while cooling. Cool at least 4 hours before cutting.
