Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • oil
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • peeled, chopped apples - 4 c

How to make comfort cake:

Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Then add oil, eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add apples and raisins. Pour batter into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 325° to 350° for 1/2 hour or until cake shrinks from sides of pan. This cake is moist and keeps well for a long time, if nobody finds it. If they do, it's a flash in the pan.
