German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 tsp
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- minced onion - 1/2 c
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- diced bacon - 1/2 c
- white potatoes - 2 lb
How to make german potato salad:
Cook potatoes in jackets until fork-tender. Peel and cut into 1/4-inch slices. Fry bacon until crisp. Add onion and saute until just tender, not brown.In bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Stir in vinegar and water until smooth. Add to bacon and onion. Simmer, stirring until slightly thickened. Pour this hot dressing over potatoes. Add celery seed.
