German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- hard-boiled eggs - 2 item
- slices bacon - 6 item
- sliced cooked potatoes - 6 c
- cider vinegar not white - 1/2 c
How to make german potato salad:
Cook bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Save 1/4 cup of drippings. Cook onion in the drippings until tender but not brown. Blend in flour, sugar, salt, celery seed and pepper. Add vinegar and 1 cup of water; cook until thickened. Stir in bacon, potatoes and eggs. Better if let stand overnight.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
