Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
  • slices bacon - 4 item
  • cooked or canned green beans, drained - 4 c

How to make german green beans:

Fry bacon until crisp; remove from skillet, leaving drippings. Add onion and cook until tender. Add flour, sugar, salt, vinegar and water. Mix well and simmer until slightly thickened. Add beans and cook for 5 minutes. Crumble bacon on top just before serving.
