German green beans
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- slices bacon - 4 item
- cooked or canned green beans, drained - 4 c
How to make german green beans:
Fry bacon until crisp; remove from skillet, leaving drippings. Add onion and cook until tender. Add flour, sugar, salt, vinegar and water. Mix well and simmer until slightly thickened. Add beans and cook for 5 minutes. Crumble bacon on top just before serving.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Green/yellow beans.
