German green beans
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- strips bacon - 4 item
- dill seed - 1/4 tsp
- green beans, drained - 4 c
- cooked potatoes, diced small - 2 c
How to make german green beans:
Reserve liquid from beans. Cook bacon, return 2 tablespoons of fat to skillet; blend in flour and sugar. Add vinegar and 1 cup bean liquid. Add water, if necessary, to make 1 cup. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens. Add onion, dill, salt and pepper. Combine beans and potatoes in pan. Add sauce and heat just until hot.
