German chocolate cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- egg yolks - 4 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- egg whites - 4 item
- margarine - 1 c
- sour milk or buttermilk - 1 c
How to make german chocolate cake:
Melt chocolate in boiling water; cool. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg yolks; beat thoroughly. Blend in vanilla and chocolate mixture. To dry ingredients, add alternately the chocolate mixture and buttermilk, beating after each addition. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into a greased tube pan. Bake at 350° for 60 minutes.
