Ingredients/Components

  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • can water chestnuts - 1/2 oz
  • small onion, grated - 1 item
  • grated sharp cheese - 1/2 c
  • to 3/4 stick butter - 1/2 item
  • can garden peas preferably LeSueur brand - 1 oz
  • Ritz crackers nearly 1 roll

How to make garden pea casserole:

Mix together the garden peas, water chestnuts, onion and cream of mushroom soup. Put in buttered 8-inch baking dish. Spread grated cheese on top of mixture.

Melt butter. Mix in enough Ritz crackers until they are moistened good (nearly 1 roll). Put cracker mixture on top of peas and cheese. Bake at 400° for approximately 15 minutes. Serves 4.
