  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • molasses - 1/2 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • black walnuts
  • box raisins - 1 item
  • English walnuts - 1 lb
  • dates - 1 pkg
  • candied fruit - 1 lb
  • figs - 1 pkg
  • grape juice - 1/2 c

How to make fruit cake:

Put fruit in large pan; add raisins and nuts. Sift flour over this. Add all spices, soda and salt to the flour. (If using self-rising flour, omit salt and soda.) With hands, mix the flour and spice mixture with the fruit until every piece of fruit is covered. Add sugar, oil, molasses, eggs and grape juice; mix well.

Grease tube pan and line with wax paper. Pour in the mixture. Cover top of cake with aluminum foil. Steam 20 minutes in pressure cooker, then cover with lid and seal. Cook at 15 pounds pressure for 60 minutes. Store cake in cool, dry place for three to four weeks and it will taste better.
