Frogmore stew
Ingredients/Components
- water - 5 qt
- small red potatoes - 4 lb
- unpeeled, large fresh shrimp - 4 lb
- Cocktail sauce - 1 item
- Old Bay Seasoning - 1/4 c
- ears fresh corn, halved - 6 item
- Melted Butter - 1 item
- Kielbasa or hot smoked sausage, cut into 1-1/2 inch slices - 2 lb
- Additional Old Bay Seasoning - 1 item
How to make frogmore stew:
Bring 5 quarts of water and 1/4 cup Old Bay Seasoning in large stock pot. Add Potatoes; return to a boil and cook 10 minutes. Add sausage and corn. Return to boil. Cook 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Remove potatoes, corn and sausage with a slotted spoon. Add shrimp to stock pot. Cook 3 to 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Remove shrimp with a slotted spoon. Serve with additional Old Bay Seasoning, cocktail sauce and butter. Yield: 12 servings.Recipe categories: < 30 mins, Soups & stews, Diabetic.
