Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- melted shortening - 1/2 tsp
- warm water or milk - 1 c
- dry milk optional - 2 Tbsp
How to make fried bread:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add water and shortening. Knead briefly. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes. Form into balls, flatten and make a hole in center. Fry in oil, turning once until golden brown and crisp.Recipe categories: Breads, North american, Canadian.
