Strawberry nut bread

Ingredients/Components

• mashed strawberries
• egg - 1 item
• melted shortening - 3 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• baking powder - 3 tsp
• salt - 1 tsp
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• sugar - 1/2 c
• chopped nuts - 1/2 c

How to make strawberry nut bread:

Preheat oven to 350°. Beat egg with strawberries and shortening. Sift all dry ingredients into strawberry mixture and stir until just moistened. Add chopped nuts.

Turn into greased loaf pan and bake 55 to 60 minutes. Allow to cool 10 minutes in pan before putting on rack to cool.
