  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • oil - 3/4 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
  • peeled chopped apples - 4 c

How to make fresh apple cake:

Mix all dry ingredients and apples by hand in large bowl until apples are well coated. Combine with wet ingredients. Spread in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until toothpick comes out clean, at 350° (may be less than 1 hour). Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Good with whipped cream or ice cream.
