Ingredients/Components

  • brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 1
  • large carrots - 2 item
  • 2 can tomatoes
  • Minute tapioca - 4 Tbsp
  • can beef consomme - 1/2 item
  • prepared bread crumbs - 1/2 c
  • wine or sherry - 1/2 c
  • stew meat, trimmed - 3 lb
  • creaming onions or 1 large can creaming onions - 3/4 pkg
  • 2 can tiny green beans, drained
  • 2 can small peas, drained

How to make french stew:

Mix. Put in oven, covered, at 250° and cook for at least 6 to 7 hours. Takes about 25 minutes to prepare ingredients. Trim fat from meat. Do not open while cooking. Serve over wild rice or noodles. Serves 4 to 6 people.
