Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • cooking oil - 1 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • white corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • to 1 stick butter - 1/2 item
  • Add oil and beat well
  • chopped fig preserves with juice - 1 c

How to make fig cake:

Mix dry ingredients. Add oil and beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, alternately with milk. Add figs, pecans and vanilla. Bake in tube pan at 350° for 1 hour or until done.Sauce For Fig Cake:1 c. sugar1/2 c. buttermilk1 tsp. vanilla1 Tbsp. white corn syrup1/2 tsp. soda1/2 to 1 stick butter Mix all ingredients together and pour over fig cake.
