Fettuccine with ham and mushroom sauce
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/4 c
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
- Tabasco sauce - 1/2 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- chopped parsley optional - 1 Tbsp
- cooked ham, diced - 1 lb
- fettuccine noodles, cooked and drained - 8 oz
- mushrooms, sliced or 1 8 oz - 1/2 lb
- recipe White Sauce Base recipe follows - 1 item
- Add mushrooms and onion
How to make fettuccine with ham and mushroom sauce:
In large skillet, melt butter. Add mushrooms and onion. Cook 5 minutes or until tender. Add ham and mix well. Prepare White Sauce Base, using 1/4 cup additional milk. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Pour over ham mixture and heat until bubbly. Serve over hot noodles. Garnish with parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.White Sauce Base:2 Tbsp. butter or margarine2 Tbsp. flour1/4 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce1 c. milk In small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Blend in flour, salt and Tabasco sauce. Gradually stir in milk. Stir constantly and bring to a boil over medium heat.
