English toffee
Ingredients/Components
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/4 lb
- water - 2 Tbsp
- plus 1 Tbsp - 1/2 c
- Hershey chocolate bars - 4 item
How to make english toffee:
Spread well chopped pecans on bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan. Melt butter slowly in a skillet. Add sugar and water to melted butter, stirring constantly. Bring to boil over high heat. Cook and stir until mixture turns light brown, about 5 minutes. Pour this mixture immediately over pecans and spread evenly to sides of pan. Break chocolate bars into squares and place on hot toffee. When melted, spread over toffee. Cool; break into pieces and store in covered container.Recipe categories: Desserts, Candy, English.
