English toffee
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- butter - 1 lb
- nuts
- milk or semi-sweet chocolate - 2/3 pkg
How to make english toffee:
Generously butter cookie sheet and sprinkle 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts over buttered pan.In a large heavy pan, partially melt butter. Add sugar. Mix well and bring to boil. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until tan in color. Remove from heat. Add slivered almonds or chopped pecans. Quickly pour on sheet and spread evenly. Sprinkle about 2/3 package milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips on top when chocolate melts. Spread evenly and may add nuts on top for decoration.
