  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • margarine or butter, softened - 1/3 c
  • Betty Crocker SuperMoist yellow cake mix - 1 pkg
  • colored sugar if desired - 1 item

How to make easy holiday cookies:

Heat oven to 375°. Mix half of cake mix (dry), shortening, butter, vanilla and egg in large bowl until well mixed. Stir in remaining cake mix. Fill cookie press with dough. Form desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until light brown around edges. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
