Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 to
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- warm water - 1/4 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- dill seed - 2 tsp
- creamed cottage cheese - 1 c
- instant minced onion can use fresh, chopped - 1 Tbsp
How to make dilly casserole bread:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Heat cottage cheese to lukewarm. Combine sugar, onion, margarine, dill seed, salt, baking soda and egg in a bowl with cheese and yeast mixture. Add flour to form stiff dough. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk. Stir down dough. Turn into well-greased 1 1/2-quart casserole or 8-inch round pan. Let rise 30 to 40 minutes or until light. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes. Brush with margarine and sprinkle with salt. Yields 1 loaf.Recipe categories: Breads, Healthy, Yeast breads.
