  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 to
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • warm water - 1/4 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • dill seed - 2 tsp
  • creamed cottage cheese - 1 c
  • instant minced onion can use fresh, chopped - 1 Tbsp

How to make dilly casserole bread:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Heat cottage cheese to lukewarm. Combine sugar, onion, margarine, dill seed, salt, baking soda and egg in a bowl with cheese and yeast mixture. Add flour to form stiff dough. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk. Stir down dough. Turn into well-greased 1 1/2-quart casserole or 8-inch round pan. Let rise 30 to 40 minutes or until light. Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes. Brush with margarine and sprinkle with salt. Yields 1 loaf.
