Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 to
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- warm water - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- instant minced onion - 1 Tbsp
- dill seed - 2 tsp
- creamed cottage cheese - 1 c
How to make dilly casserole bread:
Dissolve yeast in water. Heat cottage cheese to lukewarm. Combine sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, baking soda and egg in a bowl with cheese and yeast mixture. Add flour to form stiff dough. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk. Stir down dough. Turn into well-greased 1 1/2-quart casserole or 8-inch round pan. Let rise 30 to 40 minutes or until light. Bake in 350° oven 40 to 50 minutes. Brush with butter and sprinkle with salt. Yields 1 loaf.Recipe categories: Breads, Healthy, Yeast breads.
